adeleLast night, Murphy and I went to a show at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. The singer was Adele. Her voice was so rich and powerful that we were absolutely mesmerized. The soul and passion could be felt in every note. While I was expecting the sultry songstress to impress with her vocals, I didn’t expect much personality in between the songs. Yet, Adele was delightful, clever, and genuinely excited to be performing for the sold out crowd. She sang several songs from her debut, 19, covers of Etta James and Sam Cooke and not once made me regret staying out past 10:30pm on a week night. While she has been compared to many, Alison Moyet works for me. As we headed to the car, we ran into Mara Davis, Elizabeth, and Mike. We all agreed that we witnessed something really special and we wouldn’t see her in a small venue like this again. Go see her if you have the chance.
