Framing It

yvonne-tennis-may-20072Sometimes on the tennis court, you’ll hear a player say,” I framed it”. It’s when the ball hits the racquet frame and not just the strings. I began playing tennis in 2005 and my love of the game has propelled me into situations that I never imagined. I’ve met some ladies who have become very close friends and consider myself lucky any day that I can get on the court with them and play. It also occurred to me that I want to share my passion for the game with others. That led me to signing up for a tennis workshop and certification test. I studied hard and practiced often. At the exam, I was the only person with no teaching experience and definitely the novice of the group. It was a little overwhelming but I tried my best. At the very least, I learned a lot and hoped that I didn’t embarrass myself. I was thrilled to receive my certificate in the mail last weekend proclaiming that this rag tag street tennis girl is now a PTR Certified Associate Instructor. And while the certificate may be just a piece of paper to most, “I framed it.”
